Sunday night market - so many night markets!

This one was huge and even closer to our hotel! A lot of different artisans and crafts then we’d seen the night before. We shopped a bit and then finally the just had to head back to the hotel to rest. Our room in town is super loud with traffic as our room is right on the road. The beds are also super hard! I got two extra comforters from the front desk to help pad the bed. It’s like lying on a think yoga mat. Oh well - agin it’s all an adventure!

The temples around the old city are beautiful. It’s a very cool town with the mix of modern and old school Buddhism. Bars can not serve alcoholic  drinks between 2-5pm (we think to deter drinking), and you can not walk around with alcohol at market. These people come on a loud speak and yell into the streets no smoking, no drinking on street and make elbow room! It’s very authoritative and unnerving when they speak.

We were ordering a grass jelly (gross!) drink for Dev last night when the loud speaks started making announcements and the. The national anthem can on and everyone went quiet and stood at attention on street (except a few tourists I actually told to be quiet. The teacher in me came out, reminded me on morning announcements! Lol). Diane says they do this every Sunday night.
