St. Paddy’s Day & Elections
Happy St. Paddys! Today the people of Thailand can go and vote at advanced polling and when the polls are open the bars are closed!
Not even making it up. From 6pm last night and all day today (reallynits St. Paddy’s Day) the bars are suppose to be closed. It’s a huge fine and possible jail time if they open.
That said the bars on the beach don’t seem to care or may have special licenses for tourists.
Bars also can’t serve liquor between 3-5pm daily. It’s a Buddhist country was the only reason we’ve been given so far.
