Lanta Animal Welfare
Rated the best thing to do in Koh Lanta on Trip
advisor the kids and I thought we’d take a tuk tuk to Lanta Animal Welfare this afternoon. Much like “The Cheesecake Factory” is the best place to eat in Las Vages (it’s really not) Animal Welfare May not top the beach as one of the best places but it’s pretty awesome the work they are doing!
There mission is to sterilize feral dogs and cats, treat injured animals and ensure the animals they treat are safe. If they get an animal coming from an unsafe place then they adopt them out. The are working in villages in the island to help spay and neuter all the cats and dogs that roam and have over populated some areas.
This kitten tried to attack Dev and Keenan for their chocolate brownies. It’s was cute and frightening at the same time. She literally lunged across the seats and jumped on Dev face planting her face in the Browne!
Just last year they added surgery rooms and now take on veterinary interns to help with surgeries to help all the animals they save. It’s a wonderful place and they will feed you and give you a place to stay if you wish to volunteer for a while.
We did the free tour and then walked Jolly a cute a crazy mutt how like to eat all the dried flowers on our walk.
