First bubbles - scuba!
Devlin, Keenan and Mark did there first dive today!!! We all did a beginner course with Roctopus Dive shop in Sairee Bay. (https://www.roctopusdive.com/) They are great! They do a eco events, beach and reef clean-ups and we’re super friendly and supportive.
Diane has gone before and was like a pro! Devlin and Mark both loved it so all three decided to do the second dive.

Keenan and I almost went for the second dive but then opted to snorkel instead. We all did the first dive, which was awesome! I came close to just getting out and sitting on the boat but Sachs our instructor was stellar. She took me down real slow and held my hand (literally) and was very understanding and awesome. She led Mark and I around though he really disn’t need it. Another instructor had both Dev and Keen and his only comment after was they needed to slow down - they were ready to see it all! So amazing! Really happy everyone did it and had a great time. The water is so clear and blue and warm here. It’s truly amazing.
We saw all sorts of Christmas tree coral, parrot fish, cleaner fish, clown fish, pink anemone fish, it was so good! We saw these gorgeous yellow fish that mate in pairs for life, but one was alone still looking for love.
For the second dice Dev, Mark and Diane went down 1200m and saw a moray eel, trigger fish, banner fish, parrot fish and amazing coral. Our
Guise did a wicked trick making rings of bubbles with his hands, which Dev was trying to copy. At the second site a bunch of marine biologists went down to a reef they are making to restore the reef surrounding the island. It was super cool talking to them and the kids got to think about a whole new career option! Love it!
Keenan and I snorkeled around Koh Naang Yuan. It’s three little
Islands joined by white sand bars. Totally stunning!
Keenan and I saw huge unicorn fish (they are brown with bright orange bits where their tail meets their body and the orange bits stick out. So cool! Keenan and I had a blast snorkelling while the guys scuba dived. I am happy I did it - but it really freaks me out onlynhaving a hose as a life line.
Devlin on the other hand would love to get certified and is totally in to going again! Isn’t that the way!
