Monks 4am wake up call

So the monks will drum for a while at 4am during ½ moons apparently! I was asking at 4am while it was still very dark to a thumping. Wasn’t sure if someone had broken in and walked to a beat. The house we stayed at only had screens for windows so the drumming comes right in! It scared the heck out of me. Like yesterday wasn’t one of the worst days as it was. It woke Dev up too. Apparently, they drum at 4am and 4pm during the half moon. Then they chant. All very interesting.

These marigold offerings were popping up all over the city as we were leaving for the mountains.
