Mark’s first slap slap massage!
As part of our hotel package we received two ½ hour foot massages at the spa. With it being Valentine’s Day we decided to give it a go! Mark has never had a massage before and was a little weary of the full body so we just went for the freebie. I thought they’d put us in front of a bucket of water with flower petals snd soak our feet then I give us a quick pedicure like massage but instead they went all out!
We had a couples rooms, with comfy massage tables implement with cushy foam tops, gentle relaxing music playing in the background and birds singing outside. Our massage therapists started by giving us tea and asking which scent we’d like (we both choose lemongrass - which apparently helps with jet lag - note to self for return).
Lying down on the beds they covered us with a towel on our bodies and eyes. The last I saw of Mark before the cover-up he was looking a little uncomfortable as they placed the towel over his eyes. It was a lovely massage where they put pressure on various points on our feet which was slightly painful but then relaxing later. The best was when I started to hear a “pound pound pound” sound, and then I heard and felt it amplified as the masseuse started hammering the bottom of my feet, which meanst the other massage therapist was hitting Mark! And then the slap slap slap, I almost laughed out loud! I’m now old school at getting slapped but his was Mark’s first massage ever - let alone a slappy one!!! It was amazing! What a great valentines!
We actually spent most of the day at the pool, as per Mark request. My day started with Thai chi poolside after an amazing breakfast (croissants were so buttery good and the yogurt is unsweetened which is a first here). Followed by Yoga in the “yoga and meditation” room. It was bliss. Birds singing and only me! I ended up in both classes alone! Private yoga and the Thai Chi class had two instructors! Win-win!
🙏 Namestay-here forever!!!
