American doctor training

We met a lovely young lady yesterday who is here as part of her pre-med
Studies. She’s is working with a local public high school for three months devloping cirriculum and creating PowerPoint slides for the teachers to use. She was very happy to not be in America right now as their president just declared a state of emergency to build a wall along the Mexican border. I don’t know what’s happening but I do know civilizations need to be careful - because it’s a delicate balance when it comes to having a happy nation.
She’s here through a group called www.theplf.org (I still need to look it up) but they sponsor these exchanges and place the students in school. She send the mental health education is really weak and they were working to improve that. As well all kids under the age of 16 are eligible for free eye glasses in Cambodia somher and her colleagues (there are four in total from Rochester NY) we’re conducting the eye exams at the school so the youth could have glasses! What a great program! There  rid a lot of really great things going on here. I really loved Cambodia and would love to come back. The Indigenous Khmer people are incredible! So much great energy happening with the youth after such a dark and vicious  time in the 70’s, 80’s and even into the 90’s. Recent raw brutal history that is important to learn from as a global lesson.
